Now I float away - Like honey in the sun" (Tim Buckley)
It is time to move on or in this case move southward. Today we leave for a small town near Altoona for a couple of nights. We'll experience life in a different location, meet the locals and maybe learn to play a new song. Our host runs a Bed and Breakfast and plays mountain dulcimer.
We have had such a wonderful time making new friends in Bradford. KeeKee the Kitty slept with me again last night. What a sweetie tuxedo cat. I had to kick her out in the morning because it is difficult to sleep when a teeny kitty is licking your eye lids. She ultimately won as I let her back in.
Yesterday, our last full day here, was absolutely gorgeous. Sheila drove us to the reservoir for a bit of hiking. She stayed and read in the car while we went off in two directions. I am a forager and an environmental artist. Ines is a faster walker. We both got what we needed. I needed an ART BREAK. I marked the trail.
While I played in the forest and along the banks of the reservoir I was visited by tiny flies and baby yellow bees buzzing in my ear. They seemed to be checking the stranger out and making design suggestions. Here is what we came up with in the shade of the birch and pine trees.
Last night Ines and I looked to where we might go after Altoona and Wheeling. We are aiming a little south and then heading west. All in good time and hopefully with kindred spirits lighting up our trail as we float on our way... like honey in the sun.
"Oh, hear the mountains singing
Lord, I can hear them ringing, darlin',
Out your name
And tell me if you know
Just how the river flows
Down to the sea">>>>>>>>>>>>
